So me and my wife decided to put a nano tank in our sons room. We found a 7.5 gallon deep blue rim less tank. The tank will be going on his dresser he is only 2 so hopefully there will be no issues. Here are some pics of a few items picked up and aquascape. Not sure on the light I'm going to go with prolly led and some low light corals to start with once cycled. My wife wants a clarki for the fish choice because it would prolly only be one in the tank but not sure. Anyways here we go.

I put some frozen krill I had in a fish net to get the cycle going and already have 2.0 ammonia.

Thanks everyone!
I updated the aquascape some.

I have been testing for ammonia with an API and salifert kit the API reads 8 but the salifert reads .25 or .5. Even though the salifert is a month old I think it might be more accurate. Don't know.

Green Star Polyps GSP are great just make sure you get the very vivid green ones cause they could take over, but they are fairly easy to keep and provide great movement in a tank. As far as lighting I have a 3 gal pico, I'm not sure what you wanted to do but I have a Par30 screw in LED bulb in an Ikea lamp over the tank. Looks great, but if I had to do it over again I would choose this bulb 21W PAR30 LED 18k Vibrance Reef Light, you may be able to get away with a larger Par38, if thats the case (I'm not sure if it will be too powerful) then I would pick up a full spectrum. Best of luck and take it slow, nothing good happens fast.

Let me say first hand that kids make a great excuse :)

My 3yr old is the reason that I got into the saltwater hobby, sadly we are just not having a lot of success with it and the wife has cut off funding for the hobby. We have had freshwater fish since before he was around, and he is a fish at heart. With the saltwater tank my son has been involved from day 1. He helps with water changes, he helped with cleaning the rock when we had the alge take over..and he thinks watching the fish and the shrimp is the coolest thing ever. He knowes when he is allowed into the tank and when he is not, took some work when he was in the 1-2 rage, but it has payed off since.

Would love to do a small 10gal nano in his room...but the dwarf hamster has the only free surface in his room taken over.
