Minimum light duration?

After getting the electric bill my wife wants me to reduce it, my crocea sit in the sand under 400w Halides. 24" Deep tank. Im currently at 7 hrs, want to keep all 17 happy so is any less time possible? Only have VHO supplemental.

Just try to catch her in the act of running her hair dryer too long...

the calculator I just used says that your lights are about $10 a month to use so taking it down to 6 hours will only save about 1 dollar or so
