Don't forget to check your filter socks! I have been mega busy at work the past 2 weeks, so I haven't had much time to spend on the new tank:( I noticed a week or so ago that one of my nems had walked and when I got home from work it was no where to be found. I figured it was hiding in the rocks and would come out when it wanted. I just found him in my filter sock when I went to change it! I have no clue how he made it down there in one piece. He looks really good considering. The mouth is shut and the color is good, and he immediately attached to the rock I set him on and opened up, but he is super tiny and clearly mad at me for not finding him sooner lol. I am so glad I looked in there before I threw it into the dirty sock bucket! I probably would have found him sooner if my socks would get dirty quicker, but i won't complain about that lol. So if you ever have a nem disappear, try checking your socks;)

That's crazy, but I'm glad it made it through the adventure unharmed.

Me too! Could you imagine? That would be like the world's most terrifying waterslide lol.

I've had them end up in the filter socks before. I really wish my filter socks wouldn't get dirty so fast. I really need to do something about the amount of solid waste and my lack of mechanical filtration.

I am glad I'm not the only one. This is one of the nems you have, so you know it's a decent sized nem. I would really like to know how it made its way through the strainer on the stand pipe, not to mention the teeth on the overflow! In this case I wish mine got dirty faster, but not having to change them every other day is nice:) do you have 1 or 2 socks?

haha, I have 4 and can't keep them clean. That is my biggest issue is the amount of solid waste that I have. I don't have enough flow because my LPS don't like it and being bare bottom also it's like a double whammy and trying to keep the bottom clean is a major PIA. I need to work on my vacuum design. I just need something to separate the solids out and put the water back in. Any ideas?

Just siphon directly into one of those filter socks;) but dang 4 socks are getting clogged quickly? I really can't complain then! Mine probably could have gone another 2 or 3 days but I figured I might as well change them while I had the time tonight lol.

They can deflate so much it's crazy. I can't tell you how many times I take a nice, big guy out to cut it and it deflated to almost nothing. very frustrating.
