Missing Firefish Perhaps A Magician

Bought two firefish and have only seen one for about a week. Decided to move everything around and look for the other and he was no where to be found. He is also not on the floor or around the tank. What could've happened?

He probably died and was eaten by your other tank members

Same happened to me,learned too late that if you buy two the need to be a mated pair or only one will survive.I saw mine one last time and it was pretty beaten up..then gone

I bet you a dollar you'll see that fish again. Those guys are masters at hiding. I had one in my tank for a week and only saw it every now and then around feedings. Now he's less shy and swims more openly, but still darts into the tiniest rock hole possible if I make a fast move.

BUT - check your filters and overflows etc. I think you would see some remnant of the dead fish if it had died.

I'm guessing that the other firefish did the deed...I wanted firefish for my 10 gal. reef but was told that they will fight to the death if I get 2...unless they're a mated pair...I lost a yellow goby for more than a week and than found a skinny potato chip looking thing...he became a meal after being harassed by my blenny and yellow tail damsel...hope that I'm wrong...:(
