I have read that it's not a good thing to have leathers with SPS because of toxins from the leathers. What is everyone's opinion on this? What do you keep? I have softies, LPS, and SPS and I'm wondering if I should try and ditch my leathers? Everything seems to be doing fine...

If everything is going fine, don't worry about it. Carbon will assist in removing the "toxins" leathers give off, which for the most part, they only do when they are ticked off.

Its not a problem if you keep them seperated and run carbon either in a reactor like the Phosban reactor or in a bag in a high flow area like the sump or a HOB filter.

Thank you, I'll have to start running carbon. I have shyed away from it ever since the bag busted open on the 54 gallon and turned the whole tank black! What are your thoughts on Purigen?
