I have been using Red Sea blue salt in my sps tank.

I just received 2 buckets of instant ocean salt thru a subscription service I ordered a year ago, never took them off, did not know they were coming

To make some use of it, and have my Red Sea blue last me longer, would it be ok if I mixed up the Red Sea blue salt, to say, 1.015 or so, then mixed in instant ocean to Bring me from 1.015 to 1.025 for a water change?

I understand the alk will be higher than what I’m used to then with the Red Sea blue alone, apart from that, are there any negatives ?

basically, I’d be doing a 30 percent water change, with new water that is 60 percent Red Sea blue, 40 percent instant ocean.

thank you

I do this all the time when switching salts. I feel it is not such a shock to the system. Just keep an eye on all your other parameters as there is always differences between the salts.
