For a first time filing of tank with RODI water and salt, is it possible to directly add the salt into the tank with the rodi water within it and have it mix with the power heads which are on?

No fish or corals are in the tank. Brand new tank. Trying to find another way to fill it without having to buy a giant trash can and mix saltwater in that prior to transfer

Can do for sure. Just make aure that any salt doesnt collect in the sand/substrate to give a false reading on salinity as you are filling/mixing

That’s good to know! Thanks all.

So when I’m doing that, if sand and rock is already in there, you think slowly mixing the salt and try not to have it touch the sand? Has anyone done this before?

Just keep in mind that when you add rock it will displace water.

Don't overfill or you will end up flooding your house.

If you're using dead rock you can add that before you add salt.
Live rock can only be added after the salt is added.

Nice good to know. I’ll just be using dry rock.

Thinking of having BF but he RODI directly go in 5 gallon bucket, and then transferring that to the tank. It’s 50 gallons, so 10 buckets, but it’ll save me from having to buy a giant trash can

It might save you from buying the giant trash can this first time but you may have to buy it later on for future water changes.
