Just setup a new 180 for my kids pred tank they all grew out of the 120

I have a pink tail trigger in a QT right now and the tank already has a Niger trigger in it. Can these two both go into the 180 or am i asking for big problems ?

Rest of the tank is :
Porcupine puffer
snowflake eel
flame hawkfish
harlequin tusk
flagfin angelfish
Bristletooth Tang
Hippo Tang

7 Azure Damsels

Not sure about the pink tail but I kept a niger and a blue throat together in a 150 for a couple of years with no issues. I had the niger for 6 years and he was chill. I only got rid of him because he developed a taste for LPS

EDIT: Not sure if I would recommend adding one. The porky alone can fill a 180g if you have it long enough.

Yeah hes about 6 inches now and we have had him for 2 years. The puffer, eel and niger are in a 120 right now, the tangs are in a 65 growing out and the pink tail and tusk are sitting in QT the plan is to put ALL of them in the 180 together at the same time. The 180 is fresh but im going to cycle it for a short week with pns, then add a bottle of turbo start with the livestock. Im going to add the sand and most of the rock from the 120 so it should bring the majority of the good with it. My goal was to be able to add all of the fish at the same time to the 180

I think those two will be OK together, assuming you have a lot of rock work to break up the lines of sight and provide refuge spots. Will you use an acclimation box, rather than just dumping the Pink Tail in there like a piece of meat? (LOL!)

the 180 is 100% empty atm like i said the goal would be to add all these fish from different systems to the 180 at once so no one has time to establish and get grumpy

Oh, I see. I probably read what you wrote too quickly. So all-at-once... that's even better. Don't skimp on the rocks, though. 😉👍🏻

I have 4 triggers in my 300 gal. Huma,Clown, blue jaw pair. Clown is the largest and tank boss. However, the huma is the bully. I have had much worse dynamics with tangs. There's a bit of aggression with the blue jaws and the huma. Its not a deal breaker though.

I have a clown, blue throat, red tooth, and rectangular. The red tooth was the first in and most aggressive.

The rectangular is most fun to watch zooming around everywhere.

The bluthroat is the most timid (gets most of the red tooth aggression but just runs away)

The clown is a juvenile but no one messes with him. They know he will be king sometime soon.

I want to add a female blue throat and a pink tail eventually. Maybe a humu if I find a small one to give my rectangular trig some grace.

My tangs are way way more aggressive than any trigger I've ever had.
