Who monitors ORP, that doesn't use ozone?
I don't plan to use ozone and I'm wondering if the ORP probe is worth getting?
Also is two ph probes good idea?
I'm monitoring ORP. Why? I dunno. I am considering the use of ozone at some point, but I was really just curious.
As far as two pH probes goes, I'm going to have a total of three on my system. The first is just my regular tank pH, the second will be for the pH controller on my calcium reactor, and the third will be for my Apex to shut down the CO2 in case the pH controller fails.
I have an ORP probe. I don't think it is a must have, but it is another way to keep track of the water quality. I also have more than one pH and more than one temp probe.
Two for a reactor and orp I only watch stays consent will go up if like a fish dies I believe it monitors how well your tank breaks thing down I think a lot more complicated that's what the simple term was from apex about it and there's a lot and with more independent articles on reef to reef
I splurged, got the ORP, it was fun to see trends, but not worth the money.
2 ph probes? Meh.. Redundancy is good, but I find the probes in general are pretty unreliable and need calibratiung more often than is necessary.
I kinda like it having one more way of possibly catching it when something goes wrong. I do not use it to control anything. I just keep an eye on it for a large change in reading. Not too interested in the exact value. Just watching for a change in norm.
