I am thinking about creating an excel or even adding to my website, a way for reefers to estimate their monthly costs as an internal audit.

Not sure if this would be valuable to the community, but looking for insights into what would make this tool powerful and useful for those that want to review the monthly upkeep costs.

Some items to track would be:

Energy
Food
Supplements
Salt
Rodi/Water

Anything else?

Neptune has an average of what your electricity cost! Best thing I would do it keep track of it using your notes app or a spreadsheet

Yes, I know anyone in this hobby is already committed, regardless of the monthly spending. It is more of a tool for those either trying to review their expenses, find ways to cut costs, or most likely for the new hobbyist that wants to go the extra mile before making the plunge into their wallet XD

Sometimes it's just better not knowing - Ignorance is bliss they say.

That’s my responsible self telling my Reefer self to save money. Lol!

Use a whole home energy monitor for tracking tank electric cost….. heater season is approaching 🥲. Quick Amazon and card searches tell me rest. But outside of energy everything else is bought with post bill expenses “money to blow on hobby funds” so as long that does not go to 0 iM golden lol . Cost for everything else is random and inconsistent to try to track.

3 tanks, fish, coral, lights, pumps, wave makers, electricity, RODI, food - Doesn't matter as we really enjoy the reef tanks!
