I know it was confusing with the first picture but then when I found the new pictures I knew it would take any confusion out about being a chalice ! That's all!

Never my intention to come off rude! Thanks for the help! In no way was my comment rude !
No worries. That's the brightest cyphastrea I've seen. Keep an eye out for warfare with that acro, it has nice color too!!

Hey thanks man! Yea they have more space between them now! This thing glows! All my coral has insane colors! I just posted a bunch of my sps collection in the sps section take a look ! Aquaforest is the way to go!

Will do!

It's some sort of encrusting coral and has the same polyps has say a sunset monti! See it's not a chalice ! Still look like a chalice guys lol?

Based off your first low quality pictures, it would have been called a chalice all day, now that you actually posted something decent for us to take a better look at, everybody can agree it is a cyphastrea.

One more thing I want to clear up for educational purposes.

Chalice corals do encrust, and the “eyes” are actually polyps. You may not see them open inside your tank, but I can guarantee the “eyes”(polyps) on a chalice do in fact have flower like features

show me a chalice with eye (polyps) that come out like flowers polyps??

but still they don't really patrude off the coral wow I bombed that spelling sorry!

I will take a few pictures of mine tonight when I am home. I am not trying to be rude, but how do you think they feed? Their polyps open during the night, and feed just like any other coral.

I am really not trying to argue, you could soak in my experience, or turn it away. That’s your choice.

those are sweeper tentacles not flower polyps like what's on a monti or cpyhastera

no ones arguing jeez sensitive people these days. Just stating ive never seen a chalice with flower like polyps and what you showed me is sweeper tentacles

I've seen that pop up at the LFS a while back. It's SUPER bright, but I've got too much green in the tank already. It's not a monti, chalice or cyphastrea. But I recall it being an LPS when i looked it up.

Yup that's it. I knew I saw on WWC and o knew they were having a hard time figuring out exactly what it is .

Just me, or does this look like the sponge bob cyphastrea? Edit* that wwc id is correct ^^
