hey folks,

So my red montiporas are doing bad. I have 2 which came from the same frag that are placed on different spots in the tank.

One in the main light area where i keep my acros and one kinda in the middle of the tank. For some time now they both show signs of not being happy in the tank. Parameters are in check even tough i have some cyano/algae on my dand bed which i didnt used to have. Whats weird is literally any other kind of coral in the tank looks great. From shrooms to acans and lobos aswell as my acros and even other montis. (Encrusting and plating)

Even tough almost not detectable i think theres a slight increase in nutrients in the tank and ill change water soon. Still as i said nitrates are at 2 and phosphate at about 0.05 thatcant be the issue imo.

Any ideas?

Vacuum your sand bed during the next water change.

Digitata's can and do retract from time to time. If something touches it. Mine do that sometimes.

Give it time.

The smaller part did get stung by my frogspawn. I removed the part withing reach. As i said whats weird i that both corals on opposite ends of my tank show similar signs of distress. Did vacuum and water change just now, Do you have an id on the kind of algae. Im not sure if my di resin works as it should. I currently use a silicate absorber.

It looks like cyanobacteria to me.
