I scored a deal on this WYSIWYG frag during a WWC eBay auction, but I know little about this particular Montipora species.

It’s my understanding that they grow in a branching fashion after encrusting, but I wanted to try and get some more info to ensure that I know what to look out for.

My tank is very stable and mature with good params

Ca 450
Dkh 9.9
Mg 1320
Phosphate - 0 on Hanna checker, but some minimal algae on glass, so that tells me there is trace amounts in the system
Nitrate - 0, results appear similar to above

Any Hirsuta owners that can chime in?

I just scored one of these in the @TeamAquaSD Live sale over the weekend. They may be able to help with care requirements. I haven’t received mine yet, but here is what I found: high water flow and bright lighting (PAR 250-400)

This is mine, elkhorn montipora hirsuta.
Does not look like yours though.
Mine is a weed and I just removed it from my 120. Tank is 11 months old.
I grew this from a frag the size of yours in less than 6 months.
It now resides in my frag tank. Cant give it away. I gave a few frags to lfs to help them out.
Anyone in my area can have a frag lol.
