So I got myself a sunburst monti.

It was initially placed at the bottom of the tank for light acclimation while I decide on a place for it.

Ever since, it’s loving life with full PE - been two weeks.

I have a fusion 10 with a Kessil A80 light, so it’s not a crazy amount of par. I know montis like light - should I place it somewhere near the bottom or move up for maximal growth??

It might be happy now but will it being at the bottom with less light be a block in growth?

I might be overthinking it lol

If your bottom has adequate par it will be fine. Its hard to tell you keep there or move it up without par levels in your reef. If you do not have access to a par meter you can use your best guess. If you say its growing and loving life where it is why move it? Plus it will plate so in a small reef like yours your better off keeping it down low if you can.

Yeah good insight - no access to par.

I’m unsure about growth since I’ve only had it for two weeks. I’ll monitor as we move along.

Just wanted to ensure that I am not placing it a place where it will not grow because it’s low level.

Imo months can take varying par levels. As long as its getting at least 100 par it should be fine.
