I finally took the plunge and got a montipora as my first sps. I've had him about a month. Tonight I noticed these little white things around the edges in a couple spots. I'd like to know what they are. I'm a total novice, even though I read so much before getting him. I hate to appear dumb, but I haven't been able to find an answer.

Make sure they are not montipora eating nudibranchs. Can’t tell from pic as it’s a bit blurry.

looks like monti eating nudibranch to me, especially the bigger one on the right
See if you can blow/siphon them off to be sure

Also leaning towards MEN, siphon them out. Don’t blow them away. They’ll come back. But if they laid eggs already it’s going to be a problem.

Thank you SO much everyone! That's exactly what they are. Once I had your suggestions, I googled that. Sure enough... That's what I have. So, I read up a lot on them last night. I'm going to follow reef builders advice on how to deal with them. If it wasn't for you all responding to my question, my monti would probably perish. Now he has a chance! Thank you all again!
