Found a couple of my montipora pics, got plenty more if I can find them. First pic is a shot from the under-side up towards the top of my 300g reef. almost looks like a shot you'd get while diving under the sea IMO, if I could dive that is, that's what I'd think i'd be able to see o_O

That is pretty cool growth pattern. Looks like a crazy mushroom at first glance.

It does. Here is a side shot. You can tell I pruned it back. It was starting to overhang, and shade out other tank mates. I have seen it listed with several names. But it is an incrusting coral typically. Unless it encounters another coral. Then it will start growing more like a digita. But with the look of a cactus. Not the colors of the more sought-after varieties. But under high light, say 500-600 par, the green turns pink. Here is a shot more from the side. I will post the pic of the pink one, if I still have it.

It's probably montipora confusa looks just like my colony that is getting out of hand that I need to remove.

Yes, I have seen it listed as that coral as well. Here is a picture of an earlier specimen, of the same colony. I was trying to push the boundaries of par. Using various leds in a 14000k spectrum. I increased intensity weekly by about 50 par. At approximately 450-550 par, it turned yellow. When the intensity reached approximately 800 par it turned pink. Unfortunately at approximately 900 par it began to bleach. It never recovered.

No problem. That has been an issue I have ran into. If a seller doesn't list the type, and par of the lighting a specimen is under. I won't buy it. Some; not all, will blast them with light to morph the color, especially with Led's. Only to watch it brown out, or RTN in my tank. Not trying to be a pessimist, but it has happened to me. And with that, I am drifting off topic. So on with the show.
