Hey reefers, I consider my self more of a LPS, softie reefer but would like to ad some SPS to the system.
I fancy the encrusting montis.
what can you SPS gurus tell me about these corals?
how fast to they soak up the Ca & Mg?
growth rate?
do the sting or other coral warfare
anything else you show know?

also what are generally considered easier SPS corals ?

cheers

Hey im no sps guru and i consider myself an LPS and softie guy too but i do have a mystic sunset montipora thats been doing well in my 120 and generally i give it a lot of space to grow and since i only have the one Ca and MG levels don't fluctuate a lot especially because its a frag hope it helps!

i have mine on its own rock just because i want it to encrust the whole thing but that depends because i don't think they send long sweepers out so unless something is directly touching it nothing should happen....mine doesn't grow too fast its been a month and it just is starting to encrust onto the rock but that could be because the conditions aren't optimal for sps
