So I bought 2 moorish idols, ordered as mating pair. Got along great until today. The one that is slightly larger started biting at the other. Both eat great and are getting fatter. Took out the one being bullied and put in a 30g. I know he can't stay there long, so I am wondering if I swapped them and put the bully in the 30 for a week or two would he go back to bullying the other one after being out for that period of time? Thanks

Unfortunately I do not see this being a solution. They will have disagreements in the future as well. Idols don't typically do well together in captivity, even if paired I still hear of stories much like this one.

That's kind of the conclusion I came up with also. Talk to the place I got him and they will take him back. If there's anyone in the southern wisconsin area that would like an Idol let me know. Eats like horse. Beautiful fish.

Doubt it was a mated pair, although I've seen them diving, unless the guy you bought it from caught it himself, it's not likely it was a real mated pair
