Does this look right? And will this work without a internal overflow box just letting it skim the water from the PVC pipe with the filter.. Or is this asking for trouble and doing it all wrong? Sorry just new to all this..

That will work, the other pipe is a return? If so make sure there is a check valve to prevent reverse suction when pump is off.

I would add ball valves to both sides so you can adjust the water going in and out of the tank, that way if your return pump is pumping more water than your feed line will drain you are not running your pump dry. Other than that you can turn your inlet sideways to get more flow to the sump.

I would also add a bit of pipe to the portion of the drain outside the tank (making it taller) prior to your siphon tube.
