I just got 2 Uno's for my tank. Trying to decide on mounting. Off the back of the tank I can only get 5" off the water due to the stairs behind my tank and closeness to the trim. On the sides I have more adjustment.

Opinions?

Covered top?
Width of tank front to back?

From the look and data at thier website
the reflectors look to be about 90 degrees.
Could be wrong.
Anyways that low I' d be a little concerned with moisture.
You can put a piece of paper or white board across the top.
Ideally most should be in the tank w a little on the outside.

8" is probably a good starting point for about 20" front/ back.
But that would mean side mounting.
Don' t see any issue w/ that.

5" for a 12" front/back or an island effect

Then there is left to right ..

Simply geometry

Ended up moving to side mounting at 11" above. Tank is 36x22x22.
