Move deresa

I’m thinking about temporarily moving my tank so that I can repair some flooring in my house. I’m estimating this to take about 2 days and then I’ll put the tank back.
My tank is bare bottom and I have a 2.5” deresa that has attached to the bottom glass. What is the best way to handle this? Should I try to detach it and put it in a holding tank? If so, how should I do this without damaging its foot?

You can use a razor blade and carefully cut the threads that are attached to the glass, but you can’t pull on them or cut them above the attachment point. It’s risky, but I’ve done it in the past. You have to go slowly and make sure that you don’t damage the bissal organ. But if there is a way you can move the tank and put enough water back in to cover the clam, that may be easier? You can drain all of the water out and move the tank with the clam, as they can stay out of the water for a short period without issue. Some clams are completely exposed during low tide, so being out of water is fine. How big is the tank?
