My RFA eventually grew too big for its spot and was angering a rock covered in palys to the point where they closed up for a month and started sliming. I tried to remove it with other methods but eventually I chiseled the rock to a point where I could get my finger under it to slowly peel it off.
It seemed to go smoothly but the anemone is now completely unresponsive and hasn’t reattached.

is the foot damaged? It didn’t look all brown and mushy immediately after removal.

The foot does look damaged.
it is possible that it will recover. Just keep an eye on it

Anything I can do to improve prognosis? I feel pretty bad. I should have just let the palys go..

As marlon said it’s best to just let it be. Don’t beat yourself up over it...it was mistake.

alright. will do. I put it in a tubberware with high walls and some sand. trying to keep the clean up crew out and stop it from blowing around the tank. my porcelain crab was still trying to hang onto it. pretty sad

Looks to hopefully be on the mend. The brown mushy spot has even shrunk more since I woke up. His mouth is fully closed and he has almost fully attached to the rubberware

This happened to me once and I watched it 5 days and on 5th day it didn't improve, I threw it out. Such a beautiful anemone too. Glad I did because when I pulled it out it smelled so bad

Was it healing at all? Or by day 5 you noticed no healing. Still worried about infection with mine but he seems to be getting better

Mine did not. Its tentacle was moving for 5 days. When I saw pieces floating off I knew I had to throw it out

Couldn’t find too many damaged foot success stories so I’ll update this with some good news. Looks like it made a full recovery! The porcelain crab somehow even climbed over the tubber ware to join him. Gonna keep him in there for the time being
