Moving LR to the tank after cycle

Hello All,

I purchased about 25 lbs of LR from BRS. I have been letting the LR run the cycle for over a week and a half. Ammonia is high, nitrites are high and nitrates are barely registering.

After the cycle, I want to move it to my new biocube set up. Question is, should I dip it or do anything in case there are any undesirables on the LR before putting it in the new tank?

You could cook the live rock. Basically put the rock in a bucket of saltwater with no light or food and let it sit for a month. So all the pest will die off but not the beneficial bacteria

Thanks! I was hoping to not have to cook it...just dip it like you would a coral or something. Although you are right, cooking it would give a high assurance that nothing was passed on.
