Every month I swap out wetsides on my mp10QD pumps, operated at 10-50%, acid soak in citric acid overnight, and add small drop of food grade silicone to shaft rebuild etc. However today I noticed that the shafts on both are starting to fray and rust? They still work but cracks in the ceramic and what looks like rust can’t be good right? Any thoughts?

I don’t run mp’s. By the way. I’m Jesus’s buddy from back in the day. You sold me a blue face for super cheap. If you come to sf. I’ll let you pick up anything for free.

PS would love a tour of your current tank setup when you are bored!

I have an MP10 with the white driver. An old one. I also have 2 MP40s and 4 60s of various ages. I have never seen a cracked shaft and none of them have any rust.

I never leave a pump in acid more than a 1/2 hour. Too many threads about stuff attacking pumps over the years.

Yeah I stopped using vinegar and switched to citric acid and may reduce soak time too. Go figure.

I tried it and it works fine but the dust is hard on me. I have been using muriatic acid from Home Depot.
Diluted and only for about a 1/2 hour. It does work fast though.

How old is the Mp I would reach out to Ecotech
They came through for me. I bought mine used here and the shaft was damaged. Ecotech sent me a new wetside free of charge
