I'm setting up a 45" x 20" x 17" peninsula AIO - it'sa peninsula design (so filtration compartment on the 20" side) but not displayed like a peninsula. I like the open back look so I've got it sitting on a built in by the fireplace. I had about 5 x Ecotech MP10's that I've been sitting on. I was previously planning a "dream" SPS build, but pivoted to an clown/nem AIO for simplicity. My question is, with a clown/nem tank would a sinlge Orbit 4 (placed on the filtration wall) provide enough general flow vs a bunch of MP10's on the back and side (negatively impacting view)? I've never run gyre style pumps before. I love the vortechs, but I'd prefer not having any visible objects on any of the three panes of view.

I really like the vortech- not only for the functionality but I use a lid and really appreciate not having to run the cord under the lid. Little things like that make a big difference.

Y a I definitely agree with the cord option. I had a bevel notched out on the back wall of the filtration compartment so that I could run cords out the back side of the filtration section (blacked out) and sit a lid down flush over it all to hide everything. So I imagine with the Orbit the cord issue would be really minimal. just the few inches of cord running from up the filtration wall. Not perfect but better. I'd love a world where the vortech motor was submersible! then I could just mount the vortechs to the filtration wall. I'm honestly surprised vortech hasn't gone there yet.
