Tank is chugging along. Just starting to see meaningful growth on some of the coral. The red monti has encrusted and developed an overhang extending beyond the rock work, the trumpet has seen a lot of growth, lost one of the heads on the hammer but the other head has expanded a lot, and starting to see a bunch of new heads on one of the acans. The other acan has looked terrible for the past few weeks, I think because it was being harassed by my clowns. Have moved it to the sand bed in lower light/flow to help it recover (hopefully). My goniopora is looking a little better with slightly more polyp extension
Recently made a purchase — got the Innovative Marine EXT 50. Still waiting on delivery, but expect to start setting up next week. My plan is to keep this tank going but use it as a coral and invert QT.
Due to the upgrade, I want to also take my fish QT seriously, so I have dropped my two fish inhabitants into a fish QT where they’ll be fully treated to ensure the new system is clean. Also need to make sure the current coral and inverts are in a fallow environment for the next ~70 days.
Galaxea hasn’t grown much but has seemed happy since day 1:
New heads sprouting from the acan:
Skeleton from the dead hammer head showing, but the other hammer head filling in the space, and seeing new polyps grow on the skeleton:
Gonipora with a liiiitle polyp extension:
Clowns LOVE playing in the PVC pipe in their temporary housing:
Here’s the final photos of the tank in its current form before I transfer most of the rock and livestock to my new 50 gallon later this week. Planning to keep this tank going as a frag tank/coral invert QT.
