My wife asked why we didn't have a build thread for her 32 Bio-cube and I really didn't have a good answer since this one was set-up before joining R2R. I have included pics on my 144 thread but this one deserves it's own thread so we have history and can track it's progress. The progression picks will be spotty since we really didn't take allot of this one along the way.

The tank was set up around February 2017 with the goal of a small mixed reef. All stock with no bells and whistles. The first pair of fish introduced was a pair of Beautiful Picasso clowns, a hammer, torch and some easy mushrooms. The stock light actually done well. But then we decided to take things to the next level and knew the stock lights had to go. After doing a little research we decided to go with the Steve's LED's as an up grade. We joked about the light upgrade costing as much as the tank. We have seen several folks on the forum commenting on not being able to justify spending money on lights that cost more than their tanks. But it is an easy decision when you think about how much money you will have tied up in corals. IMO lighting is the most important part of your reefing investment.

After the Steve's LED's mod we went a little crazy as you can see.

As the tank matured we ran across 2 RBTA's at the LFS. They were sump rescues and got them for a VERY good deal and introduced them to the tank. The Picasso's instantly fell in love and before no time at all the nems began hosting. From that moment my wife fell in love with the nems and changed direction and decided she wanted this to be a nem tank. So we sold and re-homed the corals. We knew the tank was to small to safely house all the corals and nems. My 144 wasn't in the picture at this time or they would have been reloacated.

I will post the current upgrade, stocking and future plans for this tank later this evening. We are considering going back to a mixed reef. If you made it this far I want to thank you for looking!

Love this! Finally! One question, though, why is she not creating an ID and posting this herself. :p

Nudge, nudge!

Looking at her tank, I am kind of wishing my BTA split when she was stressed. I could live with a tank like that for sure. It would certainly be a cheaper option for me right now.

I agree and I wish she would but she said it isn't her thing and she might someday. She likes looking at the tank and me doing the maintenance.

Brother, if you lived closer I would hook you up with a nem or two. Easy animals to care for and full of beauty. But a pain to remove when it's time to thin them out. :D

So we have a cool critter that has been in the tank since setup. Must have hitch hiked in on some like rock. Her pet elephant snail. This thing is wicked cool and getting huge! We don't see him often and we are always amazed how something that big can vanish for days on end and just reappear.

Right now it is stocked with:
1 Fire shrimp
1 YWG & 1 Pistol shrimp
1 Flameback angel
1 Yellow Coris Wrasse (the angle and Wrasse are best buds)
2 Picasso clowns
1 mimic puffer (very cool fish!
3 Chromis

Very nice I can't wait for mine to look that good
What do you mean? Your tank already looks great! I'm not going to lie and say we didn't have our fair share of challenges. Our 32 Biocube was for some reason the toughest tank to mature and stabilize. Years ago we had a 29 and it was a breeze in comparison.
