MTC MVX Skimmer / Recommendations

Looking for a new skimmer for a 120 with 40 sump. I currently have a SWC 160. I would really like to take the plunge on the MTC MVX but I'm concerned about noise (tank is in the family room where we watch tv). Anybody out there use the MVX that can chime in on the relative noise? If you have any skimmer recommendations I'd like to hear them 24-26 would be the max height.

I ran the MVX For a while, and now run a larger version. The noise comes either from the pump or from the mazzei sucking air. Pick a quiet pump and muffle the mazzei and no noise.
