Was walking past the tank and noticed that my anemone was in the middle of splitting. Now I have 3! Unfortunately they are all in different areas at the moment. Have to keep an eye on them to make sure they dont wonder into my new corals. Got a cool shot of it splitting with my phone.
Ok. A while back I took my first video from my phone. Thought I would post it. Lots has changed since this video but its my first try in posting one. Once I get good at it, I will post more.
The aquarium is now up solid and running for 4 months now since the hypo salinity and resetting. New FTS. Lots of changes and there are allot more since i took this picture. On a mission to get my aquarium back the way I want it. I'm almost there.
On my hunt for rare corals. I ran across this article in reef builders about Vincent Wang in Taipei Taiwan. The videos of his aquarium arts is wonderful. Check it out if you haven't seen it. Some of the best chalices and coral setup. Here is the article. Google for the videos.
Chalice corals of the Echinophyllia genus are easily some of the most colorful, brilliant and highly sought after corals for reef aquariums. Last year while I was in Taiwan I connected with a reefer…
Well I told myself I would never put a mushroom in my display again. As they spread all over the place. I was a LFS and saw a jawbreaker in person for the first time. Well long story short. I have one now. LOL. I hear these grow really slow so we shall see.
Just a few of my new additions. I added these guys a couple weeks ago and they are doing great. Really cool to watch. With more predominate blue lighting in my reef. The beautiful green color is washed out in my display, but they are really cool and getting into crevices to clean algae.
Yesterday I noticed that my chocolate tang AKA "Tiny" has started to get some color in his face. I'm excited to see how this morph from juvenile to adult will happen and how big he will get. His name is Tiny because he was about the size of a Nikel when I got him. I purchased him as a 4" fish and I got a nickel sized fish. LOL. The vendor resolved the issue for me, but he was too cute to get a new one. He was almost the width of the heater in my qt tank.
This little guy has been pretty feisty and fun to watch. He actually slapped the face of my full grown yellow tang shortly after introducing to the tank. He foundd out quick he was not the king of the tank as he was getting chased all around. LOL.

At this point in time. He liked to hang out with the wrasses and the anthias. Actually, cuddling with the anthias quite often and then at the change of a hat...practicing is chasing skills with the anthias as well. LOL

Now he is the most accepted fish in the aquarium as he has relationships with all the smaller fish and now hanging out with the big tangs and testing his slapping as well. The face is starting to get a little brown in it now. So tha is so cool. Since he is getting some brown so early. I'm starting to wonder how big he will get. I'm starting to think maybe 4" at full growth...but we shall see as I have never had one before.
Well I have been battling Byropsis for a while now. Went through 2 treatments of Flux Rx. Its now a little under control, but while fighting algae and scubbing rock, I kicked off aiptasia bloom. They are now out of control. So I have purchased allot of nudibranches. i think I will have to wait for them to do the work.
The Flux treatments has killed off some of my prized sps and lps, but at least the majority of them are still here. This is one of my favorite milli's. Its still here and actually grew during treatments.
"Tiny" continues to make his transformation to maturity. He hasn't gotten much bigger, but his color has been making drastic changes. He doesnt sleep with the anthias anymore and he definitely practices his bullying skills with them every now and then. LOL. They pretty much ignore him as they have been a family member for so long.
I think this millie actually liked the treatment. This is post treatment. The color is a little different though, due to me changing my lighting spectrum. Maybe I should have left it the way it was.
