This is resultant of letting some of the colonies touch. What is interesting is that this zoa colony is under the Orphek's. Notice the color on the zoa's is much richer and florescent. Really like the light so far.

I have ripped out more sps from the display to make room for new corals. I guess its a never ending thing. Some were bigger than plates as before. Had to take out some full colonies and sale and just kept a small frag to regrow. Will post some more pics later. The frag tank is ready to go. It was actually ready as far as parms go about 4 days after adding water and bacteria. I have stacked almost all the live rock I can in the sump of the waterbox aquarium. Excited to get corals in there. Still have its light over my display. The jury is not ready yet. Wanting to wait to see what it does to my RR Jawdropper acro. Just pulled a piece and put directly under this light this past weekend.

Frag Tank Update
Well the boss has let me know that we do not want to have lights hanging from the ceiling on the frag tank. After looking over the area its in. I agree. So I'm not going to put the Orphek V4 over the frag tank.

So this is my new light. Will try to get up and running tomorrow.

Next build for the main display is to switch out all of my lighting to Orphek. I"m going with the following with a home made rack. Not sure what its going to look like at this point until I get all the units.
2-Orphek v4 2's
1-Orphek v4 compact
2-Orphek 150's "When they are released"

WEll I finally got the orphek light build started. I bought some 1" aluminum rail and cut that to the length I needed. The blade to cut the aluminum was about $75 bucks :( ONce I had the aluminum rod length right I hung each light directly to the rod with all the special order hardware. Then I supported the light to the ceiling with the existing hanging kits. Not an easy light to work with due to the size and weight . Its basically back to old school when i had a 6 foot MH setup. Except it was lighter even with the glass.

When I got my light put together. I noticed that the original light I was testing had burnt out led's in it. All of them in channels 3 &4 and the light has only been running for a few months. Not a good start. Since I had already removed all my other lights from the display there was no turning back.

This is not to mention that the 2 new units I bought did not turn on and had to be worked on just to get them working. I'm not happy needless to say. I'm working with vendor to get issue resolved, but this will be no easy task to get the lights down to work on. I"m thinking I should have went another route at this point.

WEll the light is about 9 inches off the water and I"m getting about 500 par at top level sps. Just about right. Orphek has been promising the or2 150 to complete this build for some time and its been 5 months of empty promises. However I do see that they are using them in UK already.

Here is a pic of the partial build up and running. One light is limping but it still looks nice.

While I was working on the light on the main display and my new frag tank. I didn't like just having the one Gen 4 pro with diffusser on the frag tank. It faded toward the edges of the aquarium and I was only getting around 100 par on the edges. I had it mounted over the overflow and I couldn't close the lid either. That was causing salt creep on the wall and unwanted noise. I also had my tunze stream 3 mounted in front of the overflow and didn't like the shadowed frag corals underneath it so I decided to go another route

I purchased 2 Gen 5 xr15's for the frag tank and 2 mp40's. I actually started with one mp40 and put in on the side. Since it was blocking the view from the side panel I bought a second and put them on the back wall. Nothing but clear views now.

The xr15's are pretty small and nice. I placed one on my orphek v4 compact and its a fraction of the size but puts out a huge amount of light with tremendous spread.
