So, we have a thread for Full Tank Shots and a thread for cool corals - so I thought we should have one just for our fish!

Here are a few of the fish from our tank.

Atlantic Blue Tang (Sparkie)

A good one here. This will us all decide what fish we can get for our tanks. I thought it is bad luck to name fish all the fish I have named have died after I named them.

I LOVE Sparkie!
Remember I said I bought a fish yesterday? It's a yellow. A philippine yellow tang. He's in QT for a month or so, so I'll have to get his pic in there. Will post some pictures later when the lights are on. I think I'm naming the new fish Tango, because that's what I keep calling him/her. But I keep naming the fish and inverts and the grandkids keep changing the names! So I forget what their names are sometimes.

Just FYI (and you may already know this) - that philippene "yellow" tang (aka yellow mimic tang or chocolate tang) will not stay yellow... that is its juvenile coloration. It mimics the lemonpeele angel when young (or other dwarf angels). It will turn brownish as it grows up. I still thing they are pretty though - some are almost a violet/purpleish brown.

Sparkie will turn several shades of blue as he grows up. He is an Atlantic blue tang.

Guess no one else is going to pics of their fish? I know there are several members with some unique fish!

Yes I did read that. And I am cool with it. I like the fish, and already had a lot of blue in the tank so it needed something else. I really did want the Hawaiian yellow but there's just no way I'll risk my hippo(uniquely named Dori--thanks boys!) to have one.

Ok here's a few of my fish. I just can't bear to take pics against the brown rocks but then remembered I had some on the computer already.

Couldn't get the shot I wanted. Dang bubbles! He likes them though. He's Tango because I had one tang, and it wasn't enough so now I have two and everyone knows it takes two to tango.

Thanks! I think he's even more cool since reading why he's yellow now. He's mimicking the lemonpeel angel. In the wild, they live in the same area with damsels and eat the same food. The damsels will torture them over competition for the food, so they mimic the lemonpeel angel who does not eat the same exact diet as the damsel so damsels don't bother them much. That way the little tangs can eat enough without getting killed. Isn't that awesome? Everyone probably already knows that but I didn't til today.
