Multiple copperband butterfly's

Long story short, I ended up with two copperband's in QT. They are not in the same QT, they have been separated for the entire QT process. The DT tank is a 187g and I was wondering if I could successfully put both of them in the tank or do I just need to part ways with one of them?

Butterflies are pr forming, so if they accept each other it may work out, but if they are the same gender they will fight.

They do not. As far as i know, no butterflies are hermaphrodites.

After they reach maturity, most go out solo in search of a mate and when found mate for life.

There are some species that form loose schools like barber fish.

Yes, that would be a good idea.

You could try it, but it may not be 100% effective at determining if they will be compatible.

I was not successful in trying to get a pair of CBB. They fought and one have to be removed.
