I have this coral and cant remember the name for the life of me. Its typically all green and the edges turn orange when its growing supposedly but I upgraded tanks and now it has some black looking spots on it. Is it normal? To much or not enough light? Its on the 2/3rd part of my tank.

I have a duncan that is green and looks healthy. It wont open. Been this way since I brought it home about 8 months ago.

Sal 1.025
Phos 0.31
nitrate 10
Mag 1310
Cal 450
Alk 9.4

Looks like a montipora or a porites.
When did you transfer it to the new tank?
How long was the new tank running before the switch??

I had did a water change in my 75 and then 2 days later transferred everything then added more water etc. 125 has been up and running for 7 months now. Everything else is flourished. Gsp gorgonian shrooms paly multiple other encrustings.

I would say something is off then. The monti is showing stress signs. Asked when you moved it because it could just be adjusting. But 7 months is long enough to adjust.

I have had the duncan for about 8 months. I switched tanks about 7 months ago. So 7 months ago got moved from 75 to 125

Yup that's why I asked ☺️
Hmmmm. How different are the parameters from where it came from?
No different supplements?
Different distance/direction from lights? Different lights

WHEN DID YOU MOVE THE CORAL

USUALLY STRESS LIKE THAT IS EITHER AN INSTANT OR A NOTICED CHANGE OVER TIME DUE TO STARVATION OR SOMETHING SLIGHTLY OFF.

SOMETHING HAS EITHER RECENTLY CHANGED OR ITS A LONG TERM TREND
