Mushroom problem

Hi everyone,
I bought a new shroom yesterday, (not sure what type,) and he keeps floating around the tank. Would it be possible for me to fill up a shot glass with some sand and water and put him in it for the meantime while I figure out what to do?

A plastic cup from the dollar store would be better, cut out a 1 or 2 holes to allow some flow. Put some rock rubble at the bottom and then add the shroom, it usually attaches in a week

Cook him in spaghetti, I love mushrooms… oh wait the coral, not sure that would taste very nice
