Welcome to R2R!

LED's can and most certainly do grow corals! As a matter of fact, they really pack a wallup as far as PAR is concerned, and they do it using fewer Watts, which is a good thing.

There are a lot of quality fish stores out there, but there are also a number of old timer shops that hold on to the old ways. ;)

So far this community has been amazing, glad to be a part of it!

So I wanted to post some pictures of some tanks I've seen on here, that I kind of wanted to duplicate... with the rockwork/scape anyway. I really like the depth and height these scapes provides, along with the surface area for coral placement.

If my tank could be half as beautiful as these, I would be ecstatic.

Those are some nice tanks to aspire too!

If you have lots of patience, and a realistic budget, you can get there! (It's an expensive hobby. :( )

Need help with my skimmer!

I have either an Eshopps S-150 or S-120 skimmer, not exactly sure. However, I dont know if I am having issues "dialing" it in", or there is an issue with the skimmer itself. No matter how I dial it, I am not able to get the bigger bubbles to rise at the top. The smaller bubbles rise no matter what. At this point, I am just collecting water, and not actual skimmate.

I am wondering if it is because I was running it in tap water for the first two days I got it. I heard that could effect the skimmer moving forward. I didnt know any better.

Anyone have any ideas for me??

Great looking additions!!!

I'm not to sure what is going on with the skimmer. You may want to start a thread in the equipment section.

Have you dialed the outlet all the out for your skimmer? I would suggest if you can't lower the water level to below the neck that you contact eshopps. You may also need to raise the skimmer up because the water level is too high in your sump. I have never had tap water affect the long term life of a skimmer.

Thanks for the feedback everyone!

I have tried varying levels of height with portions of egg crate, to no avail. Hopefully it's not defective, looks like I'll have to call the manufacturer!
