This is my first build thread!
I picked up this from a friend 60"x25. For $75. It leaked on the right hand side pretty good.
After getting the tank home I disassembled and gave it a very good vinegar bath:
resealed the tank completely.
After resealing i filled for a week and checked for leaks.
After it checked out good, I found it a stable place in the family room. Re supported the floor with 2x12s and began filling!
I then began transferring everything from the 55gal to the 130.
In the transition process, I lost a Royal Gramma! Poor guy disappeared lol. Never did find him.
Installed the SUMP
I added two new Fish! Yellow Tang and a Flame angel. Wow does this guy have character! He will follow you around the room and rub against you while cleaning the tank! Names the yellow guy Bubbles!
I started experiencing bad algae issues. A friend helped me out on a good price with his apex system. After finished the install I wrapped the tank 3 days. Cleared algae. As most my issues on my best guess we're coming from my phosphates and silicates I decided to upgrade my rodi.
After the fish acclimated properly undecided it was time to upgrade my RO unit.
Previously had an Aqua Buddy with mixed results.
This is the new 7 stage unit with pump and UV unit. Just today added a faucet and tank.
I have been dealing with increasing nitrates.. I decided it was time to try put Nopox. So I upgrades and added another skimmer!!
After dealing with heating issues from the custom canopy. I decided to start from scratch with 1/4 oak rather than the 5/8" previously used.
Stand came out fine. For now anyways. Designed this one to be far more light as it will be resting into of the tank rather than suspended.
Black stain, inside gloss white. Cutout two duct holes for 120mm 12v fans. Actually worked out very well. Has great air flow through the canopy.
Here is the tank as it sits now.
Tank will non stop gather upgrades and and hopefully LOTS ofncoral as I am slowly moving into them. Currently only have a Flowerpot Coral.
Also picked up a 5" red bubble tip anemone from craigslist. Little guy seems to be doing good. Curious tang keeps my cautious though..
Thanks.
