Ok. I can make a thousand excuses why my tank has completely tanked( life got in the way, so on and so on) but I am just going to jump back on the horse. I have completely drained the tank and sump and removed all the rock. Redone the aquascape and added fresh rodi water and checking for leaks. Download pics later this weekend. just letting yall know I am still in the game not out.

Thanks

Hello reefers

Well it has been over a year since I restarted my reef tank and thing went a lot better this time. I have mostly sps (16) sticks and 4 LPS. I lost 1 acro but all the rest are baseing out and growing.

I did a few upgrades since the build started. I redid my control panel, installed an automatic fleece roller,UV sterilizer and added a trident.

I guess this is actually a rebuild or you can call it "My Miracle Build 2.0." When I first started this reef I had been keep saltwater and reef tanks for over a decade with good success. There were all started with real live rock. The first 2 years the 220 life where to but it mildly was a living hell. Started with dry rock and dry sand ( this was before BRS's investigations) and I could never find a equilibrium with it.

So after the big crash I cleaned the tank and equipment and it set empty for over a year while I decided if I was going to sell it or start it up again. Well in April of last year the reefing bug bite me again so I changed the aquascape and this time I did use dry rock but I went with ocean direct sand. This made 1 heck of a difference. With in 6 months the tank was pretty stable and by the year mark rock solded.
I still took it slow with adding fish and Corals. This reef is my first attempt at a mostly SPS dominate reef (my wife has to have some movement in the tank) and thing are going good. 2.0 has been up and running for a year and 5 months. After a few test Corals did good I made a few larger orders (thanks Adam from Battlecorals) I have 35 sps frags all showing growth and starting to color up.

I just wanted to thank the reef2reef community. During the year hiatus I was still looking at the forms and yall help inspire me to not give up

Happy reefing

Thanks. That is a RR Kendari. When I first put it in the tank after a couple of months it turn completely green. It started encrusting a few months later colored up and took off. The last 3 months it has been growing like a weed.
