It looks Isopod or Chiton to me kind of. Looks like it has hinges along it's back.

And he's back! Results came back on mixing tank. No copper or zinc. Kinda high silicon, but I can live with that. Water changes started.
Thank you!Congrats on 19!
I had the idea for this while reading a @PaulB post. He described something similar that used window screen or something like thatAn experiment, in the vein of @PaulB. I'm hoping algae will grow on the burlap. I have quite a lot of it. When it gets clotted with algae I can bury it in my garden and add new burlap
Didn't work. The burlap softened faster than I thought it would. About the time it started to seriously grow algae the burlap tore and fell into the sump. The falling water splashed against the door and actually lowered the sump a few inches before I saw it. Fortunately I had plenty of ASW. Also made me glad that I had a stainless steel tray built to go under the stand. The tray drains through a piece of PEX that then mates to the ABS pipes under the house. If I could do it over, I would have made the drain from the tray at least 1.5 inches, maybe even 2". It would require more planning to make sure you had clearance for the pipes, but would have been worth it. The drain handled this overflow, but my refugium has the same size drain and when I first put the system together I had too much water flowing into the refugium for what the return could handle and flooded my bedroom. My wife was awesome about it. She just cleaned it up and put everything up on scraps of lumber. However, it would have been easier if all the water just ran down the drain. An experiment, in the vein of @PaulB. I'm hoping algae will grow on the burlap. I have quite a lot of it. Contemplating either trying used cotton t-shirts in place of the burlap, or setting up a plastic tray that the burlap can just sit in until it is thoroughly covered in algae.
