Thanks for the reply an the tips. I had already ordered a 24 x 36 piece off of amazon an that came yesterday. I cut all the sump pieces last night and bend 2 pieces for overflow box this morning. Idk if I like the orange to be used for an overflow box. Looks great for the sump though.I’ve diy most of my overflow box’s it’s not hard at all! Home Depot acrylic sheet (not going to be cheap now tho) from the looks of the diy stand you probably have a table saw. I just scored the back side of the acrylic sheet and heated it up to bend it (2 less edges to silicone together) that way all you do is use the table saw the cut the teeth glue on the bottom snd silicone it to the tank!
good luck! Keep posting

What kind of solvent did you use for the acrylic?Well tonight I drilled the tank and finished up the overflow boxes. Honestly I'm not sure if I trust them enough to run water through them. Will have to leak test them next and finish up the sump later this week. An still thinking on if I want to build a canopy or not.
I found it at hobby lobby. If I could go back I would just order some weld on 4 and go with that since everyone swears by it. This stuff seem to be the same consistency though so I'll find out when I leak test it.What kind of solvent did you use for the acrylic?
That isnt the final spot for the tank. LOL, I will be putting it on our office/ game room. I just have it there so the wife has to look at it everyday and encourage me to get it out of the way faster. Are you planning on moving that light switch?
Thank you. Honestly I was just walking around petco looking for a dog bed and seen they were having the tank sale. An when we got to the register the lady scanned an extra 20% off. So I said wait a minute I have to grab something else and that's what started this. This build is looking so freakin' awesome!
If I didn't have so many empty tanks sitting around, I would do a 40 breeder build myself. Love these tanks.
Also, are you planning to leave the back of the stand open? Personally, I think that would be a good idea. It gives the heat and humidity somewhere to go.
Thank you so much. So the stand fram was built with 2x4 I had left over from projects I had going on in my house. I wrapped the stand with 1x2 trim I think I used 6 eight foot pieces or so. Used reclaimed hardwood slats you can get at lowes for pretty cheap considering price of wood right now. It took about 3 boxes. Just layed them horizontal. Built the door bought some hinges and a handle. The fancy trim piece was just an eight foot piece you can get at any hardwood store. It wasnt bad and honestly when I built the frame with 2x4 I just went to lowes and walked around and came up with the design in my head as I was looking at different woods. Need to know anymore lmk.absolutely great looking stand !!! materials list please
Painted my stand today. First attempt at chalk paint.
