I plan on starting to dose 2part from BRS at the beginning of the year and eventually move more into SPS. If anyone has any tips or ideas on how to better scape my tank for SPS please let me know. Thanks!

That's a pretty awesome scape. You have acrylic rods or pipe supporting that?

Thank you! Lots of epoxy, no pipe or rod. I used about 30% of the rock out of my old tank so i didn't want to drill it but that would work I'm sure

How much epoxy would you say you used? And was it just the clay kind that you knead together to activate the chemicals?

but, it's hard to work with and doesn't hold super well. If your just starting up I'd suggest draining it and using gel superglue or something

Well I'm wanting to re-scape my existing tank that has been running for 2 years so a full draining is not really an option. Would like to just re-use rock I have, maybe buy a couple pieces if I really have to.

Anyone have any thoughts about running mostly blues on a reef tank? I saw a video from Jason fox and it looked like he was mostly just running blues.

Also, I just started my first dose of BRS 2 part last night. Here's my parameters on my initially testing:

Calc - 475
All - 7dkh
Mag - 1560

I only added Alk last night, shooting for 8.5dkh.

From what I've read blues help with coloration but you have slower growth. I use a SB 16" wifi light with 2 t5 bulbs that run at my peak. Using one actinic and one 50/50 bulb. LEDs are at 75 blue and 35 white for my peak which is 5 hours. Total photoperiod is 14 hours but 4 hours of that the LEDs are running at minimum for veiwing and the rest is ramping up and down.

Good to know. Most of my stuff is softies right now but growth will definitely be wanted for when I get some more stonies.

Rented a par meter and must say I was very disappointed in the results.

Running the AB+ schedule on my Radion at 100%, the highest reading I could get (<1 inch under water) was 470. Moving straight down 10inches (about the middle of my tank) the par dropped to 130. On my sand which is about 20 inches deep the reading was around 60.

For those that don't know about the AB+ schedule I'll try to take a screen shot and post what it looks like.

Ordered a rock arc frag rack from @fishnreef , didn't have a great place for it without destroying my tank but I rearranged a few rocks and I think it will look good once it colors up. Also got a few frags from @Battlecorals and couldn't be happier with the quality of the frags and the service.

I'll be creating a new thread in a few weeks to track the growth of these frags.
