The CPR has been a good overflow. My future concern is finding the Toms aqua flow pump to keep the siphon. I might have to switch tanks if the Toms pump are not a available in the future. What are you using?

I’m currently using the eshopps HOB.. reefing off and on for a few decades and have never drilled a tank, get the flow right and they are pretty much bulletproof unless your dealing with nuisance algae which can clog the teeth of the overflow or potentially block syphon tube. My current tank just turned 1 year old and I haven’t touched mine.. no restarting syphon, no air pockets and has never been cleaned!

Wow, my friend. . . . So Sorry to hear. I think in this hobby, many of us including my self have endured some type of failure or challenge. Mine has been due to leak and not crash persay.
We all face leaks, disease, heater failure, power outage and many other catastrophes.
ONE SURITY WE HAVE TO ASSOCIATE WITH REEFING IS CHALLENGES. IT IS THROUGH CHALLENGES HOW WE LEARN AND LEARN TO IMPROVE.
Through my failure, I have proceeded with a plan "B" and restructured rather than be discouraged. I actually was pleased with the new results. It actually led to my Best tank yet ( which was my former 360g), and now the new tank i'm determined will my Even Better than best yet.
THERE ARE ALOT OF THINGS SUCH AS HEAVY STORM OR A BAD DAY AT THE CASINO THAT WILL KICK ME IN THE BUTT. . . . . BUT I CAN ASSURE YOU , IT W O N T BE A FISH TANK !!!
The greatest resource we have with R2R is the support we receive from members of all walks of life.
I/WE KNOW YOU WILL BOUNCE BACK WITH SOME VERY POSITIVE RESULTS !!

THIS IS PROBABLY A GOOD TIME IF YOU WERE THINKING ABOUT A NEW TANK TO GO OUT AND BUY ONE. NO NEED TO TALK TO THE WIFE. A COUPLE OF ROSES WILL DO !!!+

OMGosh, a custom 140 peninsula, I am so green with good envy!!! Can't wait to see that!

I was vetoed in cutting a hole in wall between the master and the living room. The peninsula will sit were I can see it from the bed room, living room, dinning are, and kitchen.

One of my old HOBfilter/Ref/skimmer I built had the siphon tubs. That is pretty good that the siphon stays.

This is my plan. Thank you for the encouragement.

I agree there is a good resource here on R2R for help.

Todays numbers
Not bad considering I have not checked them in a month. I am going to stop dosing alk for a week to bring down the alk and refresh the GFO

Hello all, skimmer issues
I have a redsea RSK 300 and the skimmer is overflowing like crazy. Before I treated the system I had a couple of instances of the skimmer over skimming and draining the ATO. Now after treating with red slim remover the skimmer has been overflowing for 10 days now. I also treat the system with Aquavitro remediation. I have been reading and I am at a lose on how to get the skimmer to settle down?

Gotta be something in the water it doesn't like. What I generally do is let the cup fill up, and dump it out and replace with new saltwater until the skimmer calms down. Whatever is in the water it doesn't like isnt being removed by letting it overflow back into the sump.

I agree, and good call. I just measured the water depth, 8inches. The skimmer is supposed/recommended to sit in 6 to 8 inches water, that could be one problems besides that extra stuffing in the water. I did put on skimmer on a stand, the skimmer sits in 6.25 inches of water now. It is still over skimming but not like before.

Back to my weekly numbers. I can finally turn around and look at the system and be happy that the system is not dying.

I still have some green hair algae, but slowly going away. The system is much cleaner. I am burning through 2 Cups of GFO a week right now. I am upping the alk today plus dosing to maintain a 8.2. Once the alk is in line I would re balance the Ca, Mg.
I still have some mushroom alive and starting to look like they are healthy and coming back and on chalice that is barley there,

Today numbers

I haven't made a video in sometime, so I made one. :D Nothing special, I am figuring out Adobe Premiere Pro CC again, but with a different system
