Also, as far as SPS. current setup has a nice plum crazy frag and a colony of something that kind of looks like frogskin doing well in it.

I really like what you did with your tank. I'm slowly planning mine now. Any thoughts on a skimmer or refugium?

nope just good rock and flow :D i want to keep this as simple as possible. i dont think a skimmer is entirely necessary on a tank this small, and i have a ball of chaeto that acts as a refuge for pods.

So far im have good success doing the basics of reef keeping: religious water changes, light feeding, and keeping a close eye on parameters. i tested yesterday for a few things, and here are my results, calcium:440 nitrates, nitrites and ammonia are 0. Ph: 8.0. I havn't tested for magnesium in a while, need to get on top of that. I always test my water just before i do my weekly water change so that i can see where things are at at their dirtiest. My only casualty so far is a birdsnest frag, not sure what happened to it, as the acropora is still healthy.

He's doin great, but i only see him once every few days even in a tank this small. but its worth it every time i do. He doesnt bother anything, but if anything bothers him it gets a face full of anemone. It was hilarious watching a much larger emerald crab freak out and scuttle away from him after trying to start a fight.

thermal paste... all together the whole thing took about 10 minutes from opening the package. I'm no DIY ninja either. if you look at the lights you can see the white stuff behind the diodes, that was me going a bit overboard with the past :D

Did you mount them to a heat sink? I'd rather have the lights on a heat sink with an arm to mount in top of the tank. I haven't found anything suitable yet.

yes everything i used i ordered from rapidled. Currently im being a cheapo and just using little ceramic tiles on the lid to keep it off the class. im going to add 4 more leds, and when i rewire goign to put the blues on a separate dimmable driver.
