Is it common for the fish to hide for hours without coming out?

I used to have one that would disappear for hours. However this was a .5 inch one in a 240. Sold the fish and tank. They also like to play dead.

Mine is about an inch. In a 35 gallon tank. When I first got it it was active swam everywhere even thinks its a clownfish. Hung out with them and now she is in between my live rock and didn't eat when I fed this morning.

I'm thinking ill to tell you the truth. All I have is 2 clownfish which the tang always followed with no problem. I firefish which hides 80% of the time and has never bothered any of my fish and a cleaner shrimp

a hiding fish is normal, a hiding fish during feeding is not normal. I am curently going through this with a maroon clown, he hides all day and dosent come out to eat, I blame it on a territorial 6 line wrasse.

This is Day 2 of my blue tang still looking lifeless. Won't come out of its spot it hid itself in. Still trying to figure out what's wrong?

Had a kole tang that was a scaredy cat and wouldn't come out, even at feeding, always hiding. When no one was in the living room, the tang would come out and swim all over the tank, picking algae off the rocks. Soon as some one entered the living room, back to hiding. I hated that fish!

I thought the same thing because I had a yellow tang that did the same. My hippo tang seems like its losing its color
