I finally got around to setting up my BTA propagation tank. The tank is still cycling and the light hasn't come in yet, but other than that every thing is going great:)

At the moment, i have a small pump that has a area to keep some filtration media(carbon).

I will be upgrading to a large power head (or two) with a cage and a power filter to hold the media.

Not sure if a clown is the greatest to add to a propagation tank...I'm assuming you're planning on splitting nems by cutting, not natural means. Don't think nems fare as well to the constant badgering of a clown when trying to heal up, but it does happen. You want to give the nems as much of a surviving chance as they can get.

Sorry, i was thinking this was a different thread. The tank is a 10 gallon and i ordered a 54 watt led bulb, but it hasn't arrived yet. I am using water from my cycled tank to give it the jump start. the tank will hopefully be ready by the end of september.

Live rock is a better "jump start" than old tank water. There's not much bacteria in comparison, so if you can, load up with rock instead of just water.

Yea, live rock is better. I had rbta in my main tank but they started splitting and moving too much. I took out rock and water from my main tank and placed the everything including the anemones in a 24 gallon tank. All is well
