Can you provide any more details? Pictures? Are your other fish all doing ok? Anything visible on it?

It’s helpful for the community to have more information to help. Water parameters, pictures, some more context, etc.

Maybe the pistol shrimp got him?

I read a post a week or two ago where a pistol shrimp killed a clownfish

Can we see a tank pic? Your really not giving much info at all but a picture tells a thousand words.

The tank looks very nice I got no ideas sorry. Good luck

Did you do any recent water changes or add anything else to the tank in the days leading up?

Very well could be the pistol shrimp. There are other past posts here of bad acting pistol shrimps.

Any pictures of the clownfish after you found him dead?

I have not done any water changes recently and sadly, I forgot to take a picture before I disposed of him

The pistol shrimp explanation is a red herring. The most likely cause is new tank syndrome or a common disease. The pistol shrimp logically had nothing to do with the death of a clown in a newer system.

Do you have any photos of the clownfish right before it died? I’m wondering if it was suffering with some sort of disease or illness

First, realize none of us said “sorry for your loss.” And sorry we’re all asking you the same. Bummer you didn’t grab any pictures, but definitely something to keep in mind when you need some help. Hope you’re not too disparaged from this experience.
