I can't find other threads - has anyone stained their stainless steel sink from water testing?

I test my water at the kitchen sink that is a basic builder stainless steel sink. The bottom of the sink has several darker grey stains that my wife thinks are the result of the chemicals used in my water testing. Is anyone else having similar problems?

Suggestins?

Haven’t had that issue
Simply take baking soda and make into a paste and lightly scrub with scotch brite pad
