Good morning everyone I’m going to be starting a 180 gallon reef tank. I currently have a 54 gallon corner tank and my fiancé and I are tired of not being able to get the fish we really want due to the tank size. I’ll post some pics of my process.
started off with a pretty plain looking stand with a beautiful 180 gallon dual overflow tank. Used off of market place. We were not happy with the way the stand looked so before the tank was set into place we made some changes. I built a platform from 2x4 and 3/4” plywood. After that I made the door openings a bit wider to make plumbing easier to access. Instead of putting new doors on I made a false front for it. Finally I have the tank in place. I need to finish the molding for it. So far I’m super happy. A lot more to do till I’m ready for fish.
my equipment I have so far are a 40 gallon breeder sump. Diablo 200 reef octopus skimmer. A sicce synchra 5 return pump.
this is basically what I started with
and this is where I’m at now
still need to make the canopy. Get lights and power heads but I’ll get there.
