So the reef went through a major update in the last week.
I invested in an Apex Controller and built a custom cabinet for it and my electronics well.
Waiting on a couple modules including the WXM, DOS, and FMM.
But so far the reef is running itself.
What do you think?
Also how do I set up alarms to text me?

download the entire apex programming guide, its a great resource.

i always access my apex through fusion. scroll down to email alerts, click the gear, enter in the alarms you want and where to send them.

Congrats on your new APEX!! When you get it up and running you'll wonder how you ever lived without it.

Here is some unsolicited advice. Be careful trusting the salinity probe. Mine is pretty inaccurate. Even after a proper calibration. Pretty hit or miss. Some work perfectly and some don't. I have one of the ones that don't.

I have it almost fully programmed.
I don’t really trust any probe except the ph and temp.

the orp probe can be usefull and you should have some alarms set for low values...

Also, you should set up some power monitors, especially for your return pumps.. they can alert you if a pump is going bad or if it is off. You will have to google it.

lastly, make sure you setup the apex heartbeat. this will allow you to be notified if there is a power outage.

it is great out of the box but you do need to dig around to get some "advanced" programming going to really protect yourself.

have fun
