My first Chalice help me identify exactly which one I bought

Just picked up my first chalice yesterday and something about those feeding tentacles comming out with the bright colors unlocked a new addiction, if you have some cool chalice corals in your tank please share and if anybody can identify the species mine is let me know.

Without a clearer picture I can't say for certain, but that does look like a montipora to me!

That’s what I thought too and the guy that sold it to me said it was a chalice, I don’t have a professional camera just an iPad I put all my money into the tank not cameras lol

But I just noticed the polyps and that is definitely a montipora. Looks like some type of grafted monti

That’s even better, I love montipora. Had a rainbow Superman about a year ago which was sold with monti eating nudibranches living in the base and ended up getting devoured. Have always wanted another one since. Hope I don’t get in trouble posting this in the LPS section yikes!

Take a pic with flash then, the main issue is the lighting is blue, we need some white light on it, perhaps use a flashlight. :)

Sorry it’s the reef Breeders light , telling you they set up this light right corals love that blue , but just for you here’s a more white light picture
