+1 on the JBJ ATO; I used this for awhile without failure. For the top off reservoir you can use anything including empty milk jugs, vases, big water bottles, etc.

The base is sitting on the glass! It's a 65 gallon tank with 40 lbs of sand and 65 lbs of rock!Nice scape! Looks like a volcano and I like the hole in the front too.
Hope you have the base rock on the glass or sitting on eggcrate. It's hard to tell in the pictures if the rocks buried. How many lbs of sand did it take to make that bed? I've got the same size tank and about to buy the sand. Thinking 160-200 pounds are needed.
